SAD NEWS

Lament for a soldier

Patrick Eagar’s journey on earth has come to an end
A gentleman, mercenary, raconteur and true friend
A son of privilege, he was raised in Perry Sound
Attended St. Andrew’s where inspiration was found
He played all the roles in the theatre of life
A son, a father a soldier and husband of Cathy, his wife
From rescues in the jungle to the recount of the Ghurkha shoe lace
His tales depicted journeys that riveted the listener in place
Sleep soundly dear friend, your life was amazing
A glass of Port to your memory we are raising.

Chris and I were saddened to hear of Pat's passing. We shared so many experiences over the last thirty years both in and out of our military service. I always felt we were the new face of the Canadian Forces as we seem to be truly understanding and supportive of each others element in the wide variety of roles and tasking the service requires.

It is said a soldier never dies till their forgotten - LIVE ON PAT!!!
