FLOWERPOT ISLAND TRIP

The weather was a little rough the afternoon Paul and I headed for Flowerpot Island.
This link will take you to a Parks Canada site detailing more of the history
and characteristics of this unique place in the great lakes.
To say the trip over in our 12ft boat was scary would be an understatement!!
The six foot waves and the lost of motor power (twice) made the experience
unforgettable.
The camp sites are located close to the main entrance
of Flower Pot Island.

With our boat secured to the landing dock, we headed to site #4.
Our site was located close to the dock and in short
order we were off to explore the island.
Ducks on the shore line.
Water snakes were plentiful.

The trail has some interesting challenges on its route.

Time for a rest.

A wide variety of birds(cedar wax wing)inhabit the island.

Many thanks to Paul for the great meals.
