GREAT TIMES IN MYRTLE BEACH SC.

 North view of the beach.
 South view of Myrtle Beach.
This day had 20-25 mph winds from the east.
The waves were a fair size so not much activity on the pier or the beach.

The beach is also a great place to view aircraft landing at the new international airport.
A small stream feeds the ocean and is home to a wide variety of wildlife.
A serving of fresh fish is a perfect way to end a day at the beach.
We were over joyed to have Kellie arrive in time to celebrate Chis's birthday.

The park pier is a great gathering spot.
Don't know what the fishing is like but the ice cream is always great.
Downtown Myrtle is just a short stroll away.
That ocean feels like home to us.

LAYING BACK IN THE LOW COUNTRY

Just click on this link to view the webcam at this great park.
It's located on the park beach house directly on the beach.
Note: That's myself in this 'snap shot'.
 Early morning start.
Our campsite has many living oak trees and overlooks a salt water marsh.
The bike trails in the park are first class.
Marsh boardwalks have great views of the wild life setting.
Quiet sites make camping enjoyable. .
This 10,000 year old oyster mount was likely the site of ancient gatherings by native people.
It is only one tenth the original size due to erosion.
 Bike trail to visitor centre.
The visitor centre is a must see when at the park.
 Coming ..........
or going, the live oak trees of Botany Bay Road are beautiful.
A self guided tour of the old plantation grounds is a real history lesson.
The Botany Bay Beach is a great view of an untouched east coast beach.
Protected by law, nothing can be removed from the beach.
The tides are constantly changing the landscape of the beach.
 Chris on a picture hunt.

As the tide comes and goes, the old roots of this tree filter the sea shells.

Tried my hand at "taming this creature".

Refuelling at a local eatery.
Shrimp, scallops and flounder were our choice.
Fiddler crabs in the salt water marsh.
Laying back on Edisto Beach.

Beach on the south side of the island.
So, this is where it landed!!
A few of our beach walk collections.
The sharks teeth are very interesting with the white tooth somewhat rare.
An evening of watching dolphins in the river.
