HAPPY HOLIDAYS IN NAPLES

Christmas Day dinner at the resort activity center.
GREAT FEAST!
Chris pleads with Santa Lonnie not to give her
any coal this year!!
AHHHH!!!
Life is good under the sun and in the resort pool.
Naples main street.
Enjoying a walk on the Naples beach.

Sunset at the pier.

The Everglades City pier has a great selection of seafood.
The local wildlife hang out near the diner with hopes for a free meal.

We decided to go air boating.
When we asked the locals why the company was called "Speedy",
they just laughed.

OFF WE GO!
Slowly we travelled among the mangroves (walking trees).
With little warning we quickly accelerated to between 30/40mph.
The canals were almost as narrow as the boat and at this speed we all expected to be part of the mangroves at every turn.
Click here for more examples of ur tour:

Suddenly we "shoot" out of a canal and we are in clear view of two Roseate Spoonbills.
This was a rare sight of this exotic bird of the mangroves.

Beauty

Near the end of our tour, a family of racoons wandered to the waterside. In the past the tour boat drivers were eager to feed the wildlife but now it's illegal.
Kellie and I took a midday canoe tour of the river canals in Seminole State Park
Mangroves
As we paddled in this shaded section area of the canal, one of our guides were lucky enough to near the joyful sounds of the rare "TARA OWL".
She said it was a "HOOT"!

ON THE ROAD SOUTH(weather permitting)

Good morning TARA Ontario.

Great sun rise to stay home and enjoy!
With a short break in the forecast we decided to make
our more.
We the help of more horse power, our RV was readied for take-off.
Maggie had her bag packed and ready to go.
Crossing the border at Niagara Falls we had hoped to avoid the eight
feet of snow dumped in Buffalo and now the flood warnings.
The snow bands on the sides of the interstate were impressive.
To make up for our late departure (six days), we ate quickly, covered more miles and drove later into the night. Hotel bookings were rearranged on the fly and our planned five days of camping outside Tampa will hopefully be experienced next year.
Our real first sign of spring weather was the sight of this Deux Chevaux entering a parking lot.
AH! Arived on thanks giving day at Oscar Scherer State in Osprey Florida.
The weather was great and the rest was wonderful.
We have camped here on many trips and enjoy its peaceful setting.
Sun Set
Black Water River
The surrounding was starting to `colour up`` southern style.

Irish moss covering the large pines in the park.
Blue skies were a welcome sight.
The Banyan tree always offer Maggie many areas for fast relief.
The Florida wildlife is coming out to greet us as we head south.

SEE YOU IN NAPLES!!
