SHORELINE ICE WALK

Shore line of Lake Huron,
In February I enjoy a walk on the shore line of Lake Huron.
That time of year the ice buildup is usually spectacular but I like to ensure a SW wind is present so the ice is packed close to shore. The above pic shows the ice about 15 ft above the lake with a large crack. Many pieces are unstable so caution is advised as the lake is "chilly".

WHERE'S WIARTON WILLIE?

Willie forecasted an early spring and since then we've had nothing but cold weather and lots of snow!
Where's Willie so I can try out my latest "stew recipe".
Thanks Willie-I love this stuff!

Could this be our latest "fixer upper"?

ANOTHER SNOW DAY

Maggie said it's too cool for my walk (-12c).
Front yard looks like a secret vehicle test site.

LAKE JOURNEY

I'm off to get closer to the "ice volcanoes" on the lake.
These are formed as the result of snow squalls on the lake surface.
The sun is out and  I'm on my way by snow shoes.
This is the track of a river otter entering the lake.
The ice starts to move beneath me.
A pressure crack appears as a sign that maybe I shouldn't continue.
The return trip was enjoyable as the snow storm had changed many familiar sights.
I have to try this another day.
