OSCAR SCHERER STATE PARK FL

Just finished our first week here.Very quiet with great weather.
The park is located near Venice FL.
A black water creek, South Creek, flows through the park.
Various kinds of wild live thrive in this park setting.
The early morning light highlights the many fish in the creek.
 Camera shy great blue heron.

Trail Map
With temperatures in the low eighties in the day and low seventies at night, we have something to "wine" about!
Even Maggie likes to "kick back" here.
Hope the water warms up soon (chilly 70f).
Already we are acting like locals.
 Bird of Paradise
Christmas is a coming to this street.
Siesta Beach is voted the top beach in the USA.
Sand dollars and beautiful coloured seaweed can be found on the beach.
 Pelicans stop for pictures.
Evening Sky
PS - Note of Interest
This is not my pic but I would like to mention that on the first evening in the park I was lucky enough to have stepped on an armadillo. I would normally carry a flashlight after dark but natures call was so loud it blocked my decision making. The reason I stated "I was lucky" is the fact we both survived the encounter.
Now if I could only get my flip flop down from the top of that tree!
