SUMMER TIME ON THE BAY

 Good morning Dorcas!
 Maggie and Dottie on guard.
 Wood Lilies are still plentiful in our area.
Cecropia Moth (five inches across) 
Snappers are still travelling on our property.
 Turn left!! Heavy traffic on our bridge.
 This biggie finally made it to the wetlands.
 Quiet waters on the bay.
 The inland lakes are the place of choice for many geese.
 Most evenings, this large Blue Heron lands for supper at our dock.

 Lots of snakes in the area this year.
 With three moralities so far this season, our local rattlesnakes are taking a beating on the road.
 This milk snake was at the bottom of our basement stairs early one morning.
They love structures and are harmless.

GREAT SUMMER START ON THE BRUCE


A great year for the Wood Lilly.
I missed our sunsets while travelling.
Kayak time on Lake Huron.
Clear water this time of year has lots of tree pollen on the surface.
The pollen adds colour to the shore line.
Heading home after an evening paddle.

Great water plants this year.
This family of geese welcome my arrival at the dock.
Maggie leads the way across our bridge.
Canada geese fly pass and...........

The month of June is a big month for our 
Snapping Turtles.
Digging in and .....
.. laying eggs takes place along the gravel sides of Dorcas Bay Road.
The Painted Turtles seem to be increasing in numbers.

When I checked my area "critter cam" in the morning, I noticed a snail trying to do a "SELF IE"!
We took home our new Frontier this week.
The optional rear "dining area" was a must have.
The bottle of wine was not included in the package!!
The wild Wood Lily  has covered the peninsula this spring.


Many hardy Lady Slippers still show on the road side.
