GULLAH MUSEUM

After two days of searching, we finally found this
small "GULLAH" museum.
Gullah was a secret language used by the slaves to communicate
with each other and really describes a whole way of life.
The quilts in the shop are all handmade and tell the
stories of their lives.
Various displays, such as the dolls above, show their
way of life in the early settlements.
This quilt shows the stages of the changes in their lives.
This quilt was crafted for Michelle Obama by the wife of the
museum owner and is currently on tour.
Early Africa dress.
The shop owner was a most knowledgeable and sharing person who
spent over two hours with Chris and I relating both his
history and the history of his people.

Fascinating! I love being educated by following your blog. Is this what they call "virtual travel"?
