SOLAR SOLUTIONS

The sun helps this frog survive. It gives the "Indian Paint Brush" amazing color.
These water lilies need the sun to flower. Our garden brings joy with the sun's help.
It also grows the grass that has to be cut using energy relucantly from me and most times fossiol fuel. Well it's pay back time for the sun!
Since the sun causes the grass to grow, my 12vdc mower uses the sun

to charge the battery with the help of a solar cell.

BACK AT THE BAY

The local orchids (44 different species) provided a warm welcome back.

FINAL SOUTHERN TRIP POST

It was a great joy to visit our friends Tom and Janice in the beautiful state of North Carolina.

We mostly tried to travel the secondary routes and stay at State or National Parks. These parks have great natural settings, good facilities and great staff. Most of the navigation was by way of a Garmin GPS unit but be sure to have a back-up map. This became quite evident when Garmin took us on a late night ride into the forest in a rain storm that was washing out the dirt road as we backed out with darkness approaching. Thought it was our unit but other travellers had similar stories and the need for good maps. Cities would have been very difficult to navigate so don't leave home without one. HOME BUT "SAD"

I'm sorry to say the southern weather I tired to bring back was rejected at the Canadian border and returned to South Carolina. On inspection two border guards ran from our unit and took the weather with them while requesting we continue home to Dorcas Bay.

We will surely try to succeed next year.

LAST DAYS ON THE ROAD

Last few days on the road were very wet.

Most times we were having too much fun to notice!
