About 70 miles from Edisto is another barrier island named Hunting Island. It has a state park and beautiful beach similar to Edisto.
The lighthouse on the island was built in the 1800's and is constructed of cast iron sections to enable the lighthouse to be disassembled and relocated if necessary due to shore erosion .
