45th Wedding Anniversary

A fall sunset over Dorcas Bay is simply amazing!
Our new RV seemed like a great 45th anniversary gift.
We just have to try it out!
Arriving at Inverhuron Provincial Park on Lake Huron for our anniversary "getaway" trip.
In addition to the spectacular beach and dunes, Inverhuron includes wetlands and a young hardwood forest. The diverse habitat nurtures rare plants and protects many woodland animals and birds. The park is also steeped in history.  Aboriginal people roamed here for thousands of years. In the 1800s, a small town was located in what is now part of the provincial park.
Great sandy beach.
Interesting rocky shore line.
Chris enjoying the warm fall water.
Here's a pic of a beautiful milk snake enjoying the many trails in the park.
Lots of flowers were still in bloom.
Ancient rocks marked the trails.
Evening sunsets were a joy.

Here's to 45 more joyful years on the road of life.

BEAUTIFUL OTTAWA

We had a great road trip from Blyth to Barrie and on to Ottawa.
This was the first time travelling the central highways towards Bancroft, Renfrew and on to Ottawa.
The campground in Nepean is a great facility only minutes from downtown Ottawa.
Looking for Thai treats around the Byward Market.
 Bingo!!
A great green curry with tiger shrimp.
 Heading to the art gallery.
Gallery outdoor area.
 Gallery entrance area.
Stopping for snack before viewing the VAN GOGH exhibit.
The snacks here were all "works of art"!
Fresh baking at the Byward Market.
The Obama cookies were "hot sellers".
The War Museum is always interesting and is free (parking also) for active and retired military members and their spouse.
After a get together with some long time friends, we had a quiet resting night at our campsite.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN

We arrived in Blyth ON on Friday evening and headed for the community campground.
Since it was packed with square dance teams from the area, I was concerned that "alamans left and rights" would make for a restless night
We settled in a remote area of the campground and had a most peaceful night.
The square dancers really are serious competitors and tucked in early to be in top forum for their upcoming events.
Blyth is a small village that has top quality live theater.
Chris and I have been going there for years and have enjoyed many productions with a truly Canadian content and theme.
The whole village is very supportive of the theater in proving accommodations and many dinners sponsored  by local organisations.
This years production of the Trudeau Stories has been very well received.
For us it was a travel back in time and very entertaining.

WATCH YOUR STEP!!!

This unusual picture is of an Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake resting on a shoe wiper directly outside our back door.
Just a reminder that many have been sighted in the area and you may encounter one anywhere on the Bruce Peninsula.
