HERE COMES THE VIKINGS
The Visitor Centre is both informative and entertaining.
Great views of the settlement and ocean.
The Founders.
A warm welcome on a cool, 7c, day.
Admission, gift shop,informative info and a movie are all part of the centre.
A brief walk takes us to the meadows.

Various out buildings had special functions.
The long house was the main structure.
A "retired" Viking guard welcomed us to the long house.

Sleeping quarters complete with central heating.
Those Vikings were shy!
Boat Building
The stroll back passed various locations of the settlement buildings.
An interesting sculptor depicts the joining of the new and old worlds.
Off for a meal at a local eatery.
The pan fried cod and fixins were right good.
A down home treat!!

Bet the vikings never had that kind of drink to warm them up in that weather! Could have used a few, I'm sure!
Interesting to see the photos of the settlement. I've always wanted to go. Looking forward to hearing the stories that go along with the photos.
