BROOKGREEN GARDENS

It's very difficult to choose pics from BROOKGREEN Gardens as the area covers many acres of wild life, gardens and art. The many pieces of art are set in outdoor surrounds and easily require days to view and admire. This is truly a "one of a kind" attraction and should not be missed when visiting South Carolina.
I have attached their website below so just click and enjoy.
Bike trail from Huntington State Park.
The trail travels through a fresh water swamp which contains a number of alligators.

Entrance to BrookGreen Gardens at highway 17.
Main Gate
Flowers everywhere.
Art Setting
Many new displays are now telling the stories of the slaves that worked the plantations that comprise BrookGreen.

Some displays are set in various buildings.

Wild life add to the enjoyment of many displays.
Just had to add this Nova Scotia fisherman to my collection.
The children's garden is one of my favorites.
The exit route and the many living oak trees in the garden.

BEACHIN" HUNTINGTON STATE PARK SC

Walk to beach from camp site.
Arriving at the beach area.
Sand dunes alongside path.
Shore border dunes.
The beach area is three miles long and all natural.
It is not groomed and that's a good thing.
This is a cannon ball jelly fish and spider crab.
The young crab lives on the jelly fish at the start of life.
This horse crab is over one foot across and you can easily tell if you step on it with your bare feet.
The "star" of the beach.
I like to "keep an eye out" for shells.
The wind creates these paterns with the sea grass.
Guess who loves this water!
Yes, this beach is "two thumbs up".

DAY OF REST - Happy Mothers Day!!!

Last night, while driving back to Huntington State Park on Hwy 17, a strange vehicle pulled out in front of us. An on looker testified "you all had been side Calabashed!". Well as a result we all had to be taken to CRABBY MIKES for treatement.

My condition required transportation by Mike's speciality vehicle to his treatment centre. We were treated for two hours in the "intensive CRAB" room and returned to camp.
As a result of this mishap we will be just relaxing for a few days and hope to post more pics in the week ahead.

MYRTLE BEACH ATTRACTIONS UPDATE

A new boardwalk follows the beach in the strip area.
 Great sights along the boardwalk.
A $12,000,000.00 200ft "BIG WHEEL" should be completed in May
The city is waiting for the "glass" cars from Switzerland
to complete the attraction.

This building is not good to see during our tornado warning.
The unique building is home to a new amusement centre.
These flights are about $10 a minute and when I offered $3 worth,
this is what I got!!
It really wasn't too bad since the landing removed the numerous "tics"
on my back.
Aerial shot of the area.
Yea! You could easily lose your head in Myrtle!!
