GEORGIAN BAY SHORE

After a 45min walk from the Parks Canada main office, Paul and I arrived at the Grotto site on the banks of Georgian Bay.

The entrance path to the cliffs were covered with frozen spray due to the recent storm waves off Georgian Bay. These trails are about 30-50ft above the water located a good distance from the shoreline.

Our first views of the water were spectacular!!

Travelling through the wooded areas was tricky!

We arrived back home to another "sunset wonder".

Christmas Eve Tours

Our cedar Christmas tree awaits the arrival of Santa. Homemade soup and a lovely bottle of red wine enhanced our Christmas Eve meal.Singing Sands in winter.
The sands blow on the snow and the setting appears "beach like". In reality, water can be below this sandy surface.

STORMY WEATHER

The last few days on the Bruce Peninsula have been our introduction to the annual winter season. Actually we didn't experience nearly the level shown on the media that other parts of southern Ontario received. Roads blocked, schools closed and -14c temperatures can happen anytime six months of the year. This time we didn't even lose our power!!!

With sadness we lost a Tobermory landmark overnight.

Thankfully no one was hurt and the fire had no effect on the adjoining buildings.
